Tricks 1 # Give the router space to breathe
You know that router can penetrate walls,door, all the obstacles come in front. But it doesn't mean that you will place your router behind walls or doors.Try to keep it free from obstacles. My opinion is - try placing at a central place of your room.
Tricks 2 # Improve reception
If you can't place your router in a well spaced location, just try to buy multiple antennas router. Or improve receiving power by configuring your laptops or pc's network card properties. For your information, most of the network cards receiving power remains in normal mode to save power.

You can restrict your router to specific PC's by telling its router to connect with certain PC's only. Your router identifies each computer by the unique MAC address. By MAC binding, it can be done.
